Gurls get your horns, whistles, feathers and all that jazz ready, because its carnival tiiime! The Notting Hill Carnival is the largest festival celebration of its kind in Europe and has been held each August Bank Holiday since 1966! Every year the streets of West London come alive, with the sounds and smells (mmmm jerk, curry goat yum ;p) of Europe’s biggest street festival.
Fab costumes, crazy colour, horny men and scantily clad sexy ladies will be in full effect lol Here’s how to be sure of a good time.
Eager Men. Now ladies do be careful and handle the eager mans with caution, give a firm thanks but no thanks if they get a wee bit heavy handed and think its a free grope for all, been there trust me. There are plenty people to go around so hopefully we can all get along and enjoy ourselves drama free and its on to the next one. If you do like someone still keep safety in mind and don’t wonder off without telling friends.
Makeup. Be sure to wear waterproof makeup, all that wining can get a gal all hot. You dont want streak marks.
Hair. and think threw your hairstyle so your not worried about frizz or drooping curls.Hair bands, setting lotions, bobby pins are your friends.
Refreshments: The food all looks so amazing mmmm, make sure you eat something that’s been cooked well, refresh and hydrate as you go along you don’t want to faint unexpectedly. If drinking alcohol please don’t go overboard and ruin the party. Pace yourself. Oh and please bring tissue cause we all know toilets on site tend to run out fast and layer the rim seat!
Pack Light/Dress smart: Don’t bring the kitchen sink, its carnival for goodness sake. Rucksack or shoulder bag is good, pack some touchups, think about your shoes cause its a lot of walking and dancing. Bring a poncho incase the heavens open up and wear clothes like cotton or lycra etc basically nothing that restricts whining ;p
Be Safe: Be sure your phone is charged incase you get lost, have a meeting point if someone gets lost. Have some money handy incase of emergencies.
What time does the Notting Hill Carnival start? The Carnival Bands will take to the roads from around 9am on Sunday 26th August kids day and the same time on Monday 27th of August. The Carnival parade should complete its procession by 7pm
